Holy Heck- It's a girl!

Well it's true! We are getting a dog! It is no secret that I'm not a huge animal lover, but the kids have been begging and begging and begging and begging and this cute little puppy just kind of fell into our laps. A family in our ward has a pure bred lab. She had a late night rendezvous with the australian shepherd next door. The result? Two cute unique little puppies. We are getting the girl. They were born about 10 days ago. The kids are so so excited! Their dream is finally coming true. They are using their saved up money to buy supplies before the March homecoming.
My first three kids were deathly scared of dogs until at least 4 years old. Jackson is my only child who has no fear of dogs. None!

Jacey is so happy. They named her Lola.

They have very interesting markings. They almost look like little cows.

What am I getting myself into?

Can't think of a title for this one

This is a masterpiece of Jaden and Jacey's. We have a lot of toys in the backyard--some fun and still played with and some junk that just needs to be thrown away. One afternoon, Jaden and Jacey lined everything up--I mean every single thing in the our backyard made the line. It went across the patio and then all the way down the width of the backyard.
If you enlarge this one, you can see some of the weird items. It looks like Jacey even brought some shoes out.

This is where Jackson started to mess it up. He is discovered the backyard and can be found crying, pulling on the door to the outside MANY times a day.

Items were lined all the way from that table to the wall too. I wish I could have gotten a picture of the whole thing in one shot.
I guess they had fun.

Fancy Jacey

Jacey has morphed into the storybook character--Fancy Nancy.
This is her attempt to dress fancy and look cool. This afternoon- she kept switching back and forth from Nancy to Jacey to Nancy. When she wanted to be Jacey, she would run in her room and take off all of the accessories. A few minutes later, I would find her all dressed up again. She totally stayed in whatever character she was supposed to be at that time.

Isn't it great to be four?

A Night at the Condors

Our good friends invited us to a Bakersfield Condors (ice hockey) game last weekend. We joined them and some other friends in the suite. We had a great time. I didn't watch much (any) of the game. I was busy watching kids and chattin with the girls. It was so nice to have the space for the kids to wander back and forth between the suite room and the game.
Jared and Jaden
Scott was having a good time.
This was the part where Jacey was playing games with friends-- let's lock each other in the closet.
Hanging out
I didn't take one picture of the actual game--so here is a shot that I took when we attended back in October. :)

Jacey's New Year

As mentioned below, Jacey spent New Years Eve at Grandma and Papa's house with Morgan. Here are some pictures from their wild night.

Happy New Year!

We had a very quiet New Years Eve here in the Hartland. I made lots of food that we barely made a dent in. It was just me and the boys. Jacey stayed the night at Grandma's house. We ate, played games and watched the movie Prince Caspian after Jackson went to sleep. Jared is our night owl and I knew he would make it to midnight. Jaden promised he could make it as well.
Whoops- didn't quite make it. He passed out around 11 PM. Way late for him!

Here's Jared celebrating the new year.

Jared ran outside and it was pretty quiet. A few pots and pans were sounding and some illegal fireworks made their way into our neighborhood.
This is me celebrating the new year by cleaning up the kitchen.
And here's John dancing the night away.
Happy New Year!
